Mia's day!

About

I will be taking part in this year's London Bridges Walk as part of #TeamKidney on Sunday 16 July 2023.

Four years ago, during my dialysis journey, my amazing and supportive family Philip, Josh, Poppy (and Pasha!) walked the London Bridges walk with me to raise funds for Kidney research.  Well, this year we are back with the incredible addition of 'Mia the pee'er' as we like to call her, my glorious gift of a kidney which I was lucky enough to receive in June 2022.  So 16th July will be a celebration day for Mia and a chance to raise funds for kidney research which directly helped me with my transplant. Without the research they have done with regard to antibodies, my transplant would not have happened.

I am forever grateful to my wonderful donor and their amazing family, without who I would not be able to have my life back. I thank them every day and wil be walking for them.

There are around 3.5 million people living with kidney disease in the UK, treatments can be gruelling and currently there is no cure. Only research will end this and nobody can do it but Kidney Research UK, by offering kidney patients and their families hope for the future.

Kidney disease ends here.
